Fire Community Books is an interlinked body of work — a philosophy, novels, books for children, healing companions, and songs — held together by one understanding: that we do not manage the hardest passages of a life, we move through them, and come out the other side whole and scarred and lit. This is not a guide for the curious. It is for the one in the fire right now — for those who have looked at the alternative and chosen to burn consciously instead. For those who know, with absolute certainty, that something must change.

There is a moment when sorrow is not held in but let out — sounded aloud, wailed, sung half-broken — so that no one is left alone in it. In Ireland it had a name: the caoineadh, the keen. How it was shamed out of Irish life, and the Travelling people who kept it when the settled world let it fall. Set apart from the philosophy proper, because it is not mine to fold neatly into a system.
